Morro Bay 2-Vehicle Crash Injures 1 on South Bay Boulevard near State Parks Rd

Morro Bay, CA – A woman was hospitalized Thursday afternoon, October 17, 2024, after a serious collision near Morro Bay that sent both her vehicle and a pickup truck tumbling into a ravine, according to The San Luis Obispo Tribune.

The crash occurred around 2:58 PM when the woman, driving a sedan northbound on South Bay Boulevard, attempted to make a left turn onto State Parks Road. While completing the turn, her sedan crossed into the path of a southbound pickup truck towing a trailer filled with gravel.

The truck struck the passenger side of her vehicle with significant force, sending the sedan off the road and into a nearby ravine. The impact was so strong that the truck, weighed down by its heavy trailer, followed, also careening off the road.

The woman, who sustained injuries in the crash, was promptly transported to a local hospital. Authorities have not released details about the severity of her injuries, but she is receiving medical care.

The investigation into the collision is ongoing, as authorities seek to understand the full circumstances that led to the crash.

Personal Injury Claims

Determining fault in a collision can involve multiple factors, and in California, several parties can share partial liability. A personal injury attorney plays a crucial role in helping victims establish legal responsibility after a traffic accident.

If it is found that another party contributed to the injuries, victims may be eligible to file a personal injury claim with the responsible party’s insurance. This can provide compensation to help cover damages such as hospital bills and lost income during recovery.

Comparative Negligence

California Law upholds the concept of Comparative Negligence, which allows more than one party to share blame in a personal injury accident. Injured victims may have their compensation reduced if they are found partially to blame.
