Suspect Arrested after Railroad Ave Hit-and-Run Injures 2 Scooter Riders

Suisun City, CA – A 22-year-old woman has been arrested after allegedly striking two scooter riders and fleeing the scene on Sunday evening, October 13, 2024, according to KCRA.

Officers responded to a call around 7:30 PM in the 600 block of Railroad Avenue, where a 17-year-old boy and a 20-year-old man were found injured. Witnesses told police that both victims were riding scooters in the roadway when a speeding vehicle approached from behind and struck them.

The force of the impact reportedly threw the 17-year-old into the air and onto the windshield of the suspect’s vehicle. The driver then fled the scene, leaving both victims behind.

The 17-year-old boy sustained a head injury and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. While his condition is not yet known, authorities have not released additional details about the extent of his injuries. The 20-year-old man was evaluated at the scene and did not require hospitalization.

Later that evening, at around 9 PM, the suspected driver contacted the police to report the crash. She was subsequently arrested and booked into Solano County Jail on charges of hit-and-run with injury.

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances leading up to the collision.

Personal Injury Claims

After a car accident, victims and their families often deal with emotional distress along with unexpected financial burdens, such as medical bills, lost income, and, in the worst cases, burial costs.

Those responsible for the accident are responsible for covering these expenses through their insurance provider. However, insurance companies usually try to reduce payouts for claims they can’t deny.

This is where a skilled personal injury attorney becomes essential, helping ensure victims get the justice and compensation they deserve.

California Hit-and-Run Laws

California Law requires drivers involved in a collision to stop their vehicle, notify law enforcement, and exchange insurance information with others involved. Failure to do so, considered to be a “hit-and-run,” is a misdemeanor in cases of property damage and a felony when someone has been injured.
