Hernan Salazar, 30, Named as Man who Fatally Fell from Moving Vehicle on Mt Vernon Ave in Bakersfield

Bakersfield, CA – The Kern County Coroner’s Office has identified 30-year-old Hernan Salazar of Bakersfield as the man who lost his life after falling from a moving vehicle on Mt. Vernon Avenue in Bakersfield on June 30, 2024, according to KBAK.

Salazar was traveling northbound on Mt. Vernon Avenue, just past Lucky Street, when he accidentally fell out of his vehicle around 2:18 PM. It is unclear how Salazar ended up outside the vehicle, but authorities believe no foul play was involved.

Emergency responders rushed Salazar to Kern Medical, where, sadly, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival. An autopsy confirmed the cause of death as blunt force head trauma, according to the coroner’s report, which also ruled the death an accident.

Wrongful Death Claims

Determining fault in an accident can involve many factors. One key way a personal injury attorney can support families after the loss of a loved one is by helping to establish legal responsibility.

If someone else is found even partly responsible for the death, the family may be able to file a Wrongful Death claim against the at-fault driver’s insurance. This can provide compensation to help cover medical bills, funeral expenses, and the loss of income or support for the family.
