El Dorado County, CA — A fatal crash near Circle Drive on Highway 193 claimed the life of 79-year-old Stefan Key of Hidden Valley Lake and left a child seriously injured around 1:40 PM on Thursday, July 25, 2024, according to ABC10.
The two-vehicle crash involved a Toyota Highlander and a Freightliner big rig truck. Key, the driver of the Toyota, was pronounced dead at the scene. His 4-year-old passenger sustained major injuries and was airlifted to UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento.
The driver of the Freightliner escaped the incident without injuries. The cause of the crash is currently under investigation by the CHP.
