Adeline Ramos, 43, Killed in Hwy 180 Crash near Cornelia Ave in Fresno; DUI Suspect Amadeo Manera Arrested

Fresno County, CA — The Fresno County Coroner’s Office has identified the woman killed in a DUI crash early Thursday morning, June 20, 2024, as 43-year-old Adeline Ramos of Selma, according to KSEE.

The fatal collision occurred at approximately 12:15 AM on Highway 180, west of Cornelia Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the crash involved a 2019 Nissan Versa driven by 21-year-old Amadeo Manera of Kerman and a 2007 Nissan Sentra.

CHP reports indicate that Manera was traveling westbound on Highway 180 when his vehicle veered into the opposite lane, resulting in a head-on collision with the eastbound Nissan Sentra. Adeline Ramos, a passenger in the Sentra, sustained severe injuries and was transported to a local hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries. The driver of the Sentra also suffered major injuries and was hospitalized; their current condition remains unknown.

Manera, who was also injured in the crash, was transported to a hospital for treatment. CHP investigators have determined that alcohol was a factor in the collision, and it is suspected that Manera was impaired at the time. As a result, he was arrested for driving under the influence.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing, and authorities continue to gather details to fully understand the circumstances surrounding the collision.

Passenger Liability

The liability insurance that drivers carry is designed to cover accidental harm caused not only to those outside the vehicle but also to passengers within it. A driver is responsible for the safety of everyone in their vehicle.

While making a Wrongful Death or personal injury claim against someone who knew the victim personally can be emotionally challenging, the financial burdens following a vehicular accident can be substantial.

A skilled personal injury attorney can help grieving families seek proper compensation for their loss by navigating these complex issues and negotiating on the victim’s behalf with insurance companies, who routinely work to minimize the payout of any claim they cannot deny.
