Fresno, CA – According to ABC30, on Saturday afternoon, June 15, 2024, a multi-vehicle collision resulted in two people being hospitalized after a driver failed to yield to oncoming traffic.
The accident took place around 12:45 PM at the intersection of Barstow and Fourth Streets. According to police, two vehicles were traveling eastbound on Barstow Avenue when a third vehicle, traveling northbound on Fourth Street, failed to yield after stopping at a posted stop sign. This failure led to the northbound vehicle entering the path of the two eastbound vehicles, leading to a collision that sent one vehicle into one of the buildings of Wesley United Methodist Church.
Fortunately, no one inside the church was injured. The church had hosted a women’s group meeting earlier that morning, and the congregation expressed relief that their members were safe.
Emergency responders transported two drivers to a local hospital, one with major injuries and the other with moderate. The third driver involved in the accident was able to walk away without injury. Fresno police do not suspect that drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
Personal Injury Claims
After a vehicular accident, victims and their families often face not only emotional distress but also the sudden financial burdens of medical bills, loss of income during recovery, and, in tragic cases, burial expenses.
These costs should be borne by those responsible for causing the injuries and their insurance provider. However, insurance companies typically try to minimize the compensation for any claim they cannot deny. This is why having the assistance of a skilled personal injury attorney is crucial to ensuring justice for victims of vehicular accidents.
