Stanislaus County, CA — A tragic motorcycle accident on Saturday afternoon, June 8, 2024, claimed the life of 19-year-old Oakdale resident Dustin Pace, according to The Modesto Bee.
The crash occurred around 2:25 PM near the intersection of Highway 132 (Yosemite Boulevard) and Crabtree Road, east of Roberts Ferry. California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers responding to the scene found Pace and his motorcycle at the northeast corner of the intersection.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Pace was riding a 2006 Suzuki motorcycle eastbound on Highway 132 when he attempted to make a left turn onto Crabtree Road. He lost control of the motorcycle, causing it to veer off the road and crash into a barbed-wire fence. The impact ejected Pace from his motorcycle, and despite wearing a helmet, he sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The exact cause of the crash is still under investigation, and it remains unclear whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident. As the investigation continues, the CHP urges anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward.
Our thoughts and condolences go out to Dustin Pace’s family and friends during this incredibly difficult time.
Liability in Single-Vehicle Collisions
In some circumstances, investigations can reveal that some portion of the liability for a single-vehicle collision might fall upon other drivers in the vicinity of the accident or even unsafe roadway structures. Working through the particulars of liability to help victims and their families find proper compensation is one of the many services a personal injury attorney can provide.
Once liability has been established, a personal injury attorney can also negotiate on behalf of the victim with insurance companies, who will always seek to minimize the payout for any claim they cannot deny.
