Cameron Park, CA – A motorcycle accident on Highway 50 in Cameron Park claimed the life of a 37-year-old man on Monday evening, June 3, 2024, according to The Sacramento Bee.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports that the incident occurred around 6:30 PM when the motorcyclist lost control of his bike while traveling eastbound in the carpool lane, just west of Cameron Park Drive.
CHP’s Placerville office stated that the rider was on a 2021 Honda motorcycle when he collided with the metal guardrail in the center divide. The force of the impact ejected the motorcyclist from his bike. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
Paramedics arrived at the scene and pronounced the man dead. The deceased has been identified as a 37-year-old resident of El Dorado, though his name will be released by the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office once his family has been notified.
Preliminary investigations indicate that neither alcohol nor drugs were factors in the crash. The CHP continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident.
Liability in Single-Vehicle Collisions
In some circumstances, investigations can reveal that some portion of the liability for a single-vehicle collision might fall upon other drivers in the vicinity of the accident or even unsafe roadway structures. Working through the particulars of liability to help victims and their families find proper compensation is one of the many services a personal injury attorney can provide.
Once liability has been established, a personal injury attorney can also negotiate on behalf of the victim with insurance companies, who will always seek to minimize the payout for any claim they cannot deny.
