ATV Crash near Hillside Terrace, Dog Bar Rd Kills 1 Teen, Injures Another in Nevada County

Nevada County, CA – On Saturday, May 12, 2024, an ATV crash claimed the life of a 15-year-old boy and hospitalized a 14-year-old boy, Fox40 reports.

The incident occurred around 7:30 PM on private property near Hillside Terrace and Dog Bar Road in southern Nevada County, approximately 16 miles south of Grass Valley and 47 miles northeast of Sacramento.

Both boys were transported to a nearby medical facility. The 14-year-old driver of the ATV escaped the crash with non-life-threatening injuries. However, The 15-year-old was treated for severe head trauma. Despite the medical team’s efforts, he succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

The CHP has stated that drugs and alcohol are not believed to be factors in the accident. The community is mourning the loss of the young life and extending support to the families affected by this heartbreaking event.
