Fresno, CA – The Fresno County Coroner’s Office has identified Adam Garza, a 26-year-old motorcyclist, as the victim of a fatal two-vehicle collision on Friday afternoon, May 7, 2024, according to the Fresno Bee.
According to reports from authorities, the collision took place at 1 PM when Garza’s motorcycle collided with a pickup truck at the intersection of McKinley Avenue and Effie Street.
Garza was taken to Community Regional Medical Center, where he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries. Police investigations revealed that Garza was riding a Yamaha motorcycle and was believed to be traveling at a high rate of speed at the time of the collision.
The driver of the pickup truck emerged uninjured and cooperated fully with law enforcement officers during their inquiries.
In response to this heartbreaking loss, Garza’s family has established a GoFundMe account to help cover funeral costs.
Wrongful Death Claims
Establishing fault in a collision can depend on multiple factors. Helping to determine legal liability is one of the ways that a personal injury attorney can help grieving families recovering from the loss of a loved one in a traffic accident.
If it is determined that another driver holds some portion of responsibility for their loved one’s death, they may be eligible to file a wrongful death claim with the insurance provider of the at-fault driver. A wrongful death claim can provide compensation to help cover hospital fees, burial costs, and the loss of support for dependents of the deceased.
