Jesus Trujillo-Sanchez, 27, Arrested After Pedestrian Crash that Hospitalized Sister’s Boyfriend on Palm Ave in Atwater

Atwater, CA – According to KSEE, 27-year-old Atwater man Jesus Trujillo-Sanchez was taken into custody following an incident where he allegedly used his truck to strike his sister’s boyfriend.

The Atwater Police Department reported that the event occurred late Sunday afternoon, April 14, 2024, prompting a response to a disturbance call in the 2400 block of Palm Avenue around 4:30 PM.

Upon reaching the scene, officers found a blue Toyota that had collided with a tree in the 400 block of Fortuna Avenue. Trujillo-Sanchez attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended after a pursuit. Responders also discovered an injured man beside the vehicle. He was airlifted to a nearby hospital due to the severity of his injuries.

Investigations revealed that Trujillo-Sanchez had driven recklessly, intentionally leaving the road to strike the victim, who happened to be his sister’s boyfriend. As a result, he faces charges of attempted homicide and assault with a deadly weapon.
