Wrongful Death Claims and Liability in Single-Vehicle Crashes

The loss of so many lives and injury of so many others can be devastating to families and their community. Those emotional wounds are beyond anything any amount of money can heal, but they also bring with them sudden unexpected costs in the form of medical bills, burial expenses, and the loss of income to support any dependents of the deceased.

A knowledgeable personal injury attorney can help families of the deceased to examine the evidence of a crash and determine if some portion of liability may fall upon parties outside the driver. Even in single-vehicle accidents, some responsibility may be attributed toward reckless drivers near the site of the crash or unsafe roadways for which the local government holds responsibility.

Readers should also bear in mind that the liability insurance drivers carry provides coverage for those harmed in their vehicle while they are driving, as well as those outside of it. While it may be emotionally challenging to file a wrongful death or personal injury claim with the insurance provider of someone with whom the victim may have had a personal relationship, a considerate personal injury attorney can help navigate these issues.
