Arvin, CA – According to KBAK, on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, two suspects were apprehended following a reckless driving incident that culminated in a collision with a police patrol car and the injury of one officer of the Arvin Police Department.
The incident began with officers responding to reports of a blue Mustang driving recklessly in a residential area around 9 PM. The suspects’ actions escalated with an attempt to evade police by executing a dangerous turn onto Bear Mountain Boulevard, which resulted in the Mustang losing control and spinning out
When the officers approached to assess the situation, the suspects allegedly accelerated towards them, leading to the collision. Kern County Fire Department personnel arrived promptly to treat all individuals involved.
While the suspects refused medical attention and emerged unharmed, one officer sustained minor injuries in the collision. Following medical assessment, both the driver and passenger of the Mustang were arrested on charges including reckless driving, DUI, and assault with a deadly weapon.
The suspects’ identities have not yet been released.
