Bakersfield, CA – A devastating multivehicle crash on Harris Road Wednesday, March 27, 2024, resulted in the loss of a woman’s life, as reported by KBAK.
The incident unfolded around 4:54 PM, prompting Bakersfield Police Department (BPD) officers to respond to the intersection of Ashe Road and Harris Road, where the collision involving three vehicles had occurred.
According to police reports, a male driver operating a black Volkswagen was traveling westbound within the 6300 block of Harris Road, which has a speed limit of 45 miles per hour, when he crossed into the eastbound lanes and collided with a red Honda and a black Mini Cooper.
Tragically, a woman sustained major injuries as a result of the crash and was rushed to a nearby hospital. Despite medical efforts, she succumbed to her injuries, as confirmed by BPD officials. Fortunately, the other individuals involved in the crash received only minor injuries.
The driver of the Volkswagen is fully cooperating with law enforcement, and officials do not suspect impairment to be a contributing factor in the collision.
