Fresno County, CA – According to KSEE, on Sunday, March 24, 24-year-old Jessica Guerra of Selma was arrested for DUI after a collision near Dinuba.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports that a 16-year-old boy was driving a Ford Expedition northbound on Alta Avenue toward the Floral Avenue intersections around 4 PM. At the same time, Guerra approached the intersection from Floral Avenue, driving a Chevrolet Malibu with several passengers.
While Guerra failed to stop at the intersection stop sign, the Expedition did not have a stop sign facing its direction. The two vehicles collided, launching the Malibu into the air. The Malibu landed upside-down, pinning Guerra and a 43-year-old male passenger.
Both Guerra and her passenger received transportation to Fresno Community Regional Medical Center via airlift. Guerra was placed under arrest under suspicion of DUI.
Personal Injury Claims
The liability insurance carried by drivers covers not only injuries caused to those outside of the vehicle but also the driver’s passengers. Making a personal injury claim with the insurance provider for someone with whom the victim has a personal relationship can be challenging on an emotional level, which is where the services of a compassionate personal injury attorney can help to ensure all parties are dealt with fairly while pursuing proper compensation for a victim.
