Buttonwillow, CA – According to The Bakersfield Californian, on a foggy morning on Thursday, February 29, 2024, Glenn Oldham and David Mattly, both 66 years old, were injured in a collision.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports that Oldham, who had been involved in another collision just moments before, had stopped his vehicle to check the damage after having driven eastbound on Highway 58.
With the fog reducing his visibility, Mattly failed to see the stopped vehicle while traveling westbound and collided with it, striking Oldham as well.
Emergency responders found Oldham lying on the road and transported both men to Kern Medical for treatment.
Personal Injury Claims
Establishing fault in a collision can depend on various factors, and the state of California allows for partial liability to be allocated to multiple parties. Helping to determine legal liability is one of the ways that a personal injury attorney can help victims as they are recovering from a traffic accident.
Suppose it is determined that another party holds responsibility for their injuries. In that case, victims may be eligible to file a personal injury claim with the insurance provider of those at fault. A personal injury claim can provide compensation to help cover hospital fees, burial costs, and the loss of income due to time taken off work for recovery.
