Felton, CA – On the evening of Tuesday, February 27, 2024, an 85-year-old woman driving a blue Kia Forte struck four bicyclists, according to KSBW.
The California Highway Patrol reports that the crash occurred around 6:21 PM as the Kia was driving northbound on Highway 9, near Glengarry Road. Investigators are still trying to determine why the Kia left the road and collided with the 4 bicyclists before crashing into a tree and coming to a stop.
The driver and all four bicyclists received transportation to a nearby hospital for their injuries, with two bicyclists being airlifted out and the rest carried via ambulance.
Driver intoxication is not believed to have played a part in the crash.
Personal Injury Claims
When the actions of reckless drivers lead to injuries for others, the cost of caring for those injuries should not fall upon their victims. Filing a claim with the insurance provider of the at-fault driver can offer compensation to help cover medical bills and time taken off of work to recover from injuries.
However, insurance companies always have it in their interests to deny or minimize all claims they receive, which is why the help of a knowledgeable personal injury attorney can make all the difference.
