Fresno, CA – On the night of Sunday, February 25, 2024, two alleged car thieves were arrested after a crash that injured an unhoused person, according to the Fresno Bee.
Around 7:45 PM, officers of the Fresno Police Department attempted to stop a boy and girl, who were later found to both be 13 years old, on suspicion of having stolen their vehicle. The teens drove off and went down an alley near Belmont and Glenn Avenue, where they crashed into a fence.
The boy ran away from the collision but was apprehended, along with the girl, who stayed in the vehicle. The officers discovered that two unhoused people had been on the other side of the fence struck by the vehicle. One received transportation to a nearby hospital for treatment of their injuries.
Personal Injury Claims
When the actions of reckless drivers lead to injuries for others, the cost of caring for those injuries should not fall upon their victims. Filing a claim with the insurance provider of the at-fault driver can offer compensation to help cover medical bills and time taken off of work to recover from injuries.
However, insurance companies always have it in their interests to deny or minimize all claims they receive, which is why the help of a knowledgeable personal injury attorney can make all the difference.
