Santa Maria, CA – On the afternoon of Friday, February 24, 2024, northeast of Santa Maria, a head-on collision between an SUV and minivan injured three, reports The Tribune.

Emergency responders received notice of the crash around 2 PM and arrived at the site of the accident on Highway 166 near Cottonwood Canyon Road to find two vehicles, a minivan and an SUV.

Investigations indicate that the minivan driver crossed the center line into oncoming traffic while attempting to pass other vehicles, bringing them into the path of the SUV.

Three of those involved in the crash were injured. One had been trapped within a vehicle and required extraction. To transport the injured, two helicopters were called, one from the county’s Air Support Unit and another from CalStar, as well as an American Medical Response ambulance.

Personal Injury Claims

After a vehicular accident, in addition to emotional distress, victims and their families can be overwhelmed with the sudden financial burdens of medical bills, loss of income due to recovery time, and, in unfortunate circumstances, burial fees.

The responsibility for these costs should fall upon the driver responsible for such injuries and their insurance provider. However, insurance companies will try to minimize the compensation for any claim they cannot deny, which is why having the help of a skilled personal injury attorney can prove crucial in ensuring justice for victims of vehicular accidents.
