Bakersfield, CA – According to KBAK, on Saturday, February 17, 2024, a two-vehicle head-on collision near Pioneer Drive and Dennison Lane resulted in one 29-year-old woman’s death and the arrests of 33-year-old Gabriel Coronel and 29-year-old Brayden Aragon.
Around 1:35 AM, officers of the California Highway Patrol (CHP) were called to the crash site, where investigations revealed that Coronel had been driving westbound on Pioneer in a 2017 Chevrolet at the same time Aragon was driving a 2015 Honda eastbound.
For unknown reasons, the Chevrolet crossed over into the path of oncoming traffic and struck the Honda head-on.
Aragon’s passengers three passengers included a 29-year-old woman in the right front seat who died at the scene and two others who received transportation to Kern Medical.
Authorities arrested Coronel for felony charges related to driving under the influence. Aragon was also arrested on misdemeanor DUI charges.
