Corralitos, CA – On Sunday, February 18, 2024, a solo-vehicle crash resulted in the death of 58-year-old Watsonville man Sean Wilkins Sr, according to KION.
Around 12:10 PM, Wilkins had been driving a 2003 GMC Yukon along Eureka Canyon Road, south of Las Colinas Drive. He lost control of the vehicle, which left the road, crashed into a dirt embankment, and came to rest in a nearby creek.
Authorities are still investigating what may have caused the fatal crash.
Wrongful Death Claims and Solo-Vehicle Accidents
In addition to the emotional burden caused by the loss of a loved one, grieving families often face financial burdens related to their death, such as hospital fees, burial costs, and the loss of income toward dependents of the deceased. The compensation provided by a Wrongful Death Claim can go toward addressing these unexpected financial burdens, even in solo-vehicle crashes.
Investigations may reveal that some or all of the liability for a fatal solo-vehicle crash may fall upon another driver or unsafe road conditions for which the local government holds responsibility. A knowledgeable personal injury attorney can help the family of the deceased to navigate issues of liability and negotiate on their behalf to seek proper compensation for their loss.
