Man Dead in Hwy 14 Crash Near Mojave, Struck by Nathan Reyes, 53, of California City

Bakersfield, CA – On Friday, February 16, 2024, a two-vehicle crash on Highway 14 killed a yet-unnamed 84-year-old man, according to KBAK.

Investigations indicate that the deceased had been a passenger in a 2018 Mitsubishi sedan driving southbound on Highway 14, driven by 53-year-old Sherry Marie Adams of Lancaster.

As the Mitsubishi attempted a left turn into the Statler Brothers parking lot, an Infinity sedan driven by 53-year-old Nathan Reyes of California City collided with it. Driver impairment is not believed to be a factor at this time.

Wrongful Death Claims

While no amount of money can bring back those who lose their lives in a vehicular fatality, the emotional burden of their loss is often accompanied by a financial burden that falls on their surviving family members.

A wrongful death claim filed with the insurance provider of an at-fault driver can provide compensation to help cover medical expenses, burial costs, and even the loss of support for dependents of the deceased.

However, because insurance companies carry the incentive to reduce the payout for any claim they cannot deny, the services of a skilled personal injury attorney can prove crucial in securing justice for the deceased.
