Monterey County, CA – KION reports that, on Saturday, February 3, 2024, in a head-on collision outside of Salinas at River Road and Las Palmas Parkway, a 79-year-old Pacific Grove man lost his life.
According to initial investigations, at 2:40 PM, an unnamed woman was driving an Audi southbound on River Road and crossed the double yellow line to crash into the 79-year-old man, who was driving his Ford truck northbound.
The impact caused the Ford truck to flip upside down, killing the driver on-site and injuring his female passenger, who received transport to a hospital for treatment. The woman driving the Audi received minor injuries as well.
Wrongful Death Claims
While no amount of money can bring back those who lose their lives in a vehicular fatality, the emotional burden of their loss is often accompanied by a financial burden that falls on their surviving family members.
A wrongful death claim filed with the insurance provider of an at-fault driver can provide compensation to help cover medical expenses, burial costs, and even the loss of support for dependents of the deceased.
However, because insurance companies carry the incentive to reduce the payout for any claim they cannot deny, the services of a skilled personal injury attorney can prove crucial in securing justice for the deceased.
