Yuba City Crash Kills Roseville Woman, 54, Injures Two; DUI Suspect Arrested

Yuba City, CA – A car crash on the afternoon of Saturday, January 27, 2024, in Yuba City on South George Washington Boulevard left a 54-year-old Roseville woman dead and injured two others, according to the Sacramento Bee.

The victim, whose identity is pending next-of-kin notification, was a passenger in a 2012 Mazda 3 traveling south. The Mazda collided with a 2021 Honda Accord driven by a 38-year-old Yuba City woman heading north around 4:05 PM.

The Roseville woman was pronounced dead at Rideout Memorial Hospital in Marysville, where both drivers were treated for minor injuries.

The Honda driver, suspected to be under the influence of alcohol, was arrested on charges of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, felony DUI causing injury, and driving with a suspended license due to a previous DUI.

As of Sunday morning, she remained in Sutter County Jail on a $100,000 bond.

Wrongful Death Claims

Families who lose a loved one as a result of a driver’s reckless actions or negligence may have grounds to file a wrongful death claim with the insurance provider of the at-fault driver. Compensation from a wrongful death claim can help grieving families by reducing the financial burden of medical expenses, burial costs, and the loss of income to support any dependents of the deceased.

However, insurance companies will work to minimize the payout of any claim they cannot deny, which is why the service of a good personal injury attorney can prove so valuable to families seeking justice for their loss.
