Collision with a Big Rig Kills Two on a Foggy Morning at Chestnut and Annadale

Fresno County, CA – According to KSEE, on the morning of Monday, January 29, 2024, in Fresno County, a man and a woman were killed when their truck collided with the trailer of a big rig.

The incident occurred around 7:45 AM at the intersection of Chestnut and Annadale Avenues, where heavy dense fog created challenging driving conditions.

The CHP’s preliminary investigation indicates that a big rig, hauling milk, was making a left turn westbound on Annadale Avenue while the other vehicle was traveling north on Chestnut Avenue. In the dense fog, the two vehicles collided, resulting in the death of both the truck’s driver and a passenger.

Fire crews were dispatched to the scene to extract the victims, who were trapped in the wreckage. The official identities of the deceased individuals have not been released. The circumstances surrounding the crash are under investigation.

Wrongful Death Claims

When a loved one is killed due to the negligence or poor decisions of a driver, grieving families may be able to file a wrongful death claim with the insurance provider for the at-fault driver.

While no amount of money can bring back those who have been killed, a tragedy like that can come with huge financial burdens in addition to emotional ones, including medical expenses, burial costs, and the loss of income to support any dependents of the deceased.

Insurance companies will attempt to minimize the payout on any claim they cannot deny, which is why the help of a good personal injury attorney can mean so much for families seeking proper compensation for their loved ones.
