PASO ROBLES, CA – On Monday, January 22, 2024, a hit-and-run collision at the intersection of Creston Road and Cedarwood Drive around 9:43 PM resulted in two victims injured and the suspect arrested, according to the San Luis Obispo Tribune.
The driver, identified as 47-year-old Paso Robles resident Nicacio Antonio Mendoza, attempted to flee the scene, but one of the police units responding to reports of the collision encountered Mendoza’s vehicle while en route, successfully pulled him over, and arrested him. He showed signs of intoxication during his arrest.
The two individuals injured in the collision were promptly transported to a local hospital for the treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Mendoza faces charges of felony DUI and hit and run. As of Tuesday morning, Antonio Mendoza remained in custody at the San Luis Obispo County Jail, with bail set at $100,000.
Even in collisions where determining liability may seem like a simple matter, insurance providers carry the incentive to minimize the payout of any claim they cannot deny. That is why, time and again, victims of reckless drivers find the services of a skilled personal injury attorney so helpful in seeking compensation to cover their hospital and other expenses following a vehicular accident.
