Ceres, CA – KCRA reports that on the night of Thursday, January 18, 2024, a police chase in Ceres ended in a fatal crash that claimed the lives of two individuals and left three others hospitalized.
The pursuit involved a 20-year-old man fleeing from the Ceres Police Department in a 2016 Ford sedan. On Keyes Road near Geer, the sedan entered the intersection and collided with the right side of a 2016 Ford coupe being driven by 17-year-old Joshua Guillen.
The driver of the sedan was ejected from the vehicle, along with a passenger of the same age. Both individuals succumbed to their injuries at the scene.
Two passengers in the back seat of the sedan, identified as 24-year-old Alexander Rincoln and 18-year-old Jesus Vega, both sustained major injuries and were rushed to the hospital, as was Guillen, the driver of the coupe.
The authorities are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash, including whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the tragic incident.
Establishing fault in a vehicular collision can be a complex procedure. Multiple parties can carry degrees of liability. Passengers or their grieving families may be able to file a claim against the insurance provider of their driver, whether or not that driver survived the accident.
A skilled personal injury attorney can help victims and their families to navigate the legal complexities following a crash and help secure compensation that can alleviate the burdens of hospital bills, burial costs, and loss of income resulting from injury.
