Richmond, CA – Authorities have released that a fatal crash on Friday, January 12, 2024, claimed the lives of Rosa Herrera, 18, of Richmond, and Elijah Thomasson, 21, of Berkeley, according to KRON.
The Richmond Police Department responded to reports of the incident around 7:16 AM. The crash, involving a single vehicle at Carlson Boulevard and Florida Avenue, is preliminarily attributed to speed.
The impact of the crash resulted in the vehicle splitting into three pieces. Video footage indicated the possibility of the vehicle striking a tree before breaking apart, with one section wedged against a tree.
