The incident occurred around 6:04 AM near Corral Hollow Road and Grant Line Road.

A yet-unnamed woman driving a Toyota sedan approached the intersection of Byron Road and failed to stop at a red light, resulting in a collision with the officer’s vehicle and significant damage to both.

During the incident, the officer’s patrol vehicle had not been using any emergency lighting equipment or sirens and was traveling at the posted speed limit.

Emergency responders extracted the driver of the Toyota from her vehicle and escorted her to the hospital with moderate injuries. The officer involved in the collision was also transported to the hospital with moderate injuries.

The Tracy Police Department is actively investigating the incident.

Victims of reckless drivers should not be forced to bear the economic burden of injuries caused by another. A claim to the insurance provider of an at-fault driver can provide compensation to help cover the costs of medical expenses and loss of income due to time taken off work for recovery.

However, insurance companies have an incentive to minimize claims they cannot deny, which is where the services of a skilled personal injury attorney can prove invaluable in ensuring victims receive proper compensation.
