A Sunday evening motorcycle accident that led to critical injuries took place at an intersection in Fresno. Fresno Police Department officials responded to the scene at the intersection of Kings Canyon Road and Fowler Avenue around 5:45 p.m. on the evening of November 12, 2023.
Your Central Valley reports that the accident happened when a white Dodge Charger was stopped at a red light and waiting to make a left turn at the intersection. A motorcyclist was traveling south behind the Dodge and rear-ended it due to reasons that are not entirely known. This caused the motorcyclist to be thrown off of the motorcycle and onto the road.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene following the accident. The motorcyclist, who has since been identified as a man in his 50s, was severely injured and rushed to the hospital. He has since been listed in critical condition. The driver of the Dodge was also injured and treated but is expected to be okay.
A portion of the road was blocked in the area for some time after the accident.
Fresno Police continue their investigation into the circumstances of the accident at this time.
Motorcycle Accident Dangers in Fresno

Out of these collisions, a total of three people were killed and 102 people sustained injuries that led to hospitalizations. These were higher rates than the 93 motorcycle accidents that took place in Fresno in 2021.
Fresno drivers are supposed to always obey the rules of the road and watch out for motorcyclists so that catastrophic accidents can be prevented. When drivers use precautions around these vulnerable parties, it leads to a decrease in traumatic accidents in the upcoming years and saves lives overall.
