Pedestrian Accident Dangers in Fresno
According to information provided by the Transportation Injury Mapping System (TIMS) in 2022, a total of 61 pedestrian accidents took place in crosswalks at intersections in Fresno. Out of these accidents, a total of 9 people lost their lives and another 56 people were injured.
Because pedestrians are the most vulnerable parties on our roads, they are some of the most likely to be catastrophically affected by accidents involving passenger vehicle drivers. Especially when a hit-and-run driver is involved in the accident, the pedestrian may not get the treatment they need until it is too late.
If a hit-and-run driver is not apprehended by police, pedestrians may still have options for recovery through their uninsured driver insurance coverage. If the driver is apprehended, they will be able to bring a personal injury claim against the at-fault party. There are many options for pedestrians, which is why they should consider legal help as soon as possible.
