One person lost their life in a fatal car accident that took place at an intersection in Merced on Thursday evening, October 12, 2023. Merced Police Department officials responded to the scene around 6 p.m. at the intersection of East 21st Street and Glen Avenue.
According to reports by Your Central Valley, the accident happened when several vehicles collided at the intersection due to reasons that are not entirely known at this time. The collision allegedly led to extensive damages.
Paramedics and several other Merced responders were dispatched to the scene immediately following the accident. One person was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries. It is not known if anybody else sustained injuries in the accident.
The road was blocked at the intersection for some time after the accident.
Merced Police Department officials continue to investigate the circumstances leading up to the accident.
