Pedestrian Accident Involving Children at First and Princeton Avenues in Fresno

A mother and her two children were injured in a pedestrian accident that happened on Thursday morning in Fresno. The accident occurred around 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of First Avenue and Princeton Avenue near the Birney Elementary School on September 7, 2023.

According to a report by Your Central Valley, the collision took place near the intersection as a mother and her four children started to cross the street in a crosswalk. The mother, as well as her two children, were struck by a 70-year-old woman in a Volkswagen. Police confirmed that one of the children, identified as an 11-year-old, was dragged by the vehicle until it came to a stop.

The 11-year-old was rushed to the hospital by EMS crews and has been listed in stable condition. The 4-year-old was also hospitalized with pain. Police confirmed that the mother sustained an injury to her left leg and was also taken to the hospital.

Police confirmed that the children were on their way to school at the time of the accident. Police did not say if the driver will be facing charges as a result of the accident.
