A teenager was injured in a serious pedestrian accident that took place in Oxnard on Sunday night. Oxnard Police Department officials responded to the scene on Fifth Street around the area of Patterson Road and the Oxnard Airport on the night of August 27, 2023.
VC Star reports that the accident happened near the intersection of Fifth Street and Patterson Road. A driver was traveling westbound in an SUV when the driver suddenly struck a teen who was crossing the street. The driver of the SUV remained on scene following the collision.
Paramedics rushed the female teenager to Ventura County Medical Center. She has since been listed in critical condition with multiple injuries.
A portion of the road was blocked near the intersection while police cleared the scene.
Oxnard Police Department officials continue to investigate the circumstances leading up to the accident. It is not known if any charges will be brought as the investigation continues.
