Head-On Accident Dangers In Fresno County
Fresno County is home to a lot of narrow, rural roads. These byways are often surrounded by farmland and they usually offer very little room to avoid an accident along their shoulders. That can prove dangerous when traffic suddenly stops in front of you or a reckless driver suddenly veers into your lane.
A car off-course by only a few inches can cause a devastating head-on collision. Head-on collisions prove to be the most dangerous impacts each year in California. The forces involved are derived from the speeds of both cars and the impacts can threaten anyone’s life inside those vehicles.
In Fresno County over 2020, highway officials reported 189 total accidents involving a head-on collision. In those accidents, 337 people were injured and a tragic 19 people lost their lives. That’s according to the California Transportation Injury Mapping System (TIMS).
These preventable accidents can cost victims their health and leave them with lifelong injuries. A head-on collision can also so easily rob a family of a loved one. It takes motorists to fully commit to avoiding distracted and reckless driving to provide the chance to reduce these sorts of devastating accidents.
