Modesto Traffic Accident Dangers

Weekend traffic across Modesto can become very congested and dangerous at times. Drivers may allow themselves to be distracted by a cellphone and lose track of the road and traffic signals. They can also fail to monitor their speeds and travel too fast to navigate tight traffic spots safely.

The resulting collisions can be devastating and place drivers and passengers at risk of severe injury. The California Transportation Injury Mapping System (TIMS) tracks the terrible consequences of these accidents each year and collects the data to illustrate the dangers local drivers face.

In 2020, TIMS recorded 1,214 traffic collisions across the city. Those crashes lead to a heartbreaking 15 lives lost and left almost 1,800 victims to deal with injuries.

We have the opportunity to reduce these numbers in 2021 and beyond by resolving to pay more attention to the road and taking our feet off the gas. There are always going to be dangerous moments on the streets and highways around Modesto. But by paying more attention and slowing down, we give ourselves more time and space to avoid the traffic hazards that cost us the lives of friends and family members each year.

Securing Assistance for Families After a Tragic Modesto Accident

Families who have lost a loved one in an accident can seek assistance through a wrongful death claim filed against an at-fault driver’s insurer. This support could help with memorial service and burial costs and replace the financial support the deceased can no longer provide for his or her family.

When surviving victims face the extreme costs of recovery, they are also permitted to file a claim for damages against an at-fault driver’s car insurance provider.  This claim will seek to earn support to help victims pay hospital bills and replace lost wages while missing valuable time at work.

If you or a family member is the victim of a serious crash, be sure to speak to an attorney in your area. You can visit our page about car accidents in and around Modesto for more information.
