Merced County Head-On Car Accident Dangers
Merced County and Stanislaus County drivers are at risk every day on local roads. They can suffer minor-fender benders as well as scary T-bone and rear-end accidents. One impact angle that rarely ends in just minor damage and minor injuries is the hazardous head-on collision.
The speed of both cars factors into the force of impact in a frontal impact to magnify the damage and the danger to drivers and passengers.
California’s Transportation Injury Mapping System (TIMS) recorded just over 1,700 collisions involving injury in Merced County in 2021. Those accidents tragically claimed 63 lives. An estimated 115 of those collisions involved a head-on collision. Four people lost their lives in those incidents and another 189 people suffered serious injuries.
A devastating head-on accident can leave victims to deal with long and difficult recoveries. Families can also have someone taken from them that can never be replaced. For drivers, it’s always worth the effort to stay focused on the road ahead and to allow full concentration to be placed on staying between the lines.
