At the 2014 Houston World Series of Dog Shows a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel took first place in the toy breed group. CH GCH Forestcreek Louisiana Lagniappe, owned by Ron Scott, Debbie Burke and Colton & Heather Burke was best in show for the toy breed in Houston, Texas on July 18th, 2014. At one of the largest dog shows in the south hundreds of thousands embarked on Houston’s NRG Park to enjoy five days of fun and entertainment. The schedule was jam packed from Wednesday, July 16 until Sunday, July 20th.
Toy Dog Breeds
Note that different days offered a wide variety of dog shows. During the Friday afternoon and evening event toy breeds were on display. The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel took first place with the top four being rounded out with a Pug, Chinese Crested and Shih Tzu. It is important to note that Non Sporting Breeds were also in competition with the victory being a Bulldog. The top four were rounded out by a Standard Poodle, Tibetan Terrier and Bichons Frise.
If dog tricks were your thing there was plenty to offer. From 8 am to 4 pm on Sunday there was an Agility, Flyball and Obedience setup in Hall A. There was also Frisbee, freestyle and the Internet Dog and Cat video festival in Hall B. This was a very popular place to be with many dog and cat lovers looking to “feast” their eyes on some of the best tricks. Houston has exploded with a number of pet store franchises so July is becoming one of the most popular times to enjoy fun and activities. The kids will be going back to school in less than a month so why not enjoy a few days of seeing some of the finest dogs in the world.
