Citigroup CitiMortgage, according to the Making Home Affordable Report for February 2010, has made 15,607 permanent home loan modifications within HAMP. Citigroup CitiMortgage has been one of the top lenders in the Making Home Affordable Program over the last few months and despite being outperformed by one percent they are still holding strong.
As with every lender there has been problems between Citigroup and their homeowners. Many people have waged complaints against the majority of lenders that are in the Making Home Affordable Program, but Citigroup has put 52% of their homeowners into either a permanent or trial modification, which has gone a long way in helping homeowners avoid foreclosure.
Citigroup CitiMortgage has brought their number of permanent home loan modifications up from January of 2010, which was at 10,929, so this has obviously helped the nearly 5,000 homeowners that were given a permanent modification for their mortgage, as of February 2010.
While there is no perfect lender in the modification program, Citigroup homeowners that may be having trouble should not give up as their mortgage lender is making progress each month in making home mortgages more affordable.
